I live in Ajijic, Jalisco. a town of about 10,000 people on the north shore of Lago de Chapala, the largest lake in Mexico. Here it is on a map.

The towns from Jocotepec to Chapala are commonly referred to as "Lakeside." There are about 50,000 residents in Lakeside, of which about 20,000 are Canadian and American expats.

It's about an hour drive from Ajijic to the center of Guadalajara (depending on traffic), about 40 minutes to the airport.
